Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst (BCaBA)

Key responsibilities / accountabilities

  • Conducts behavioral assessments and provides behavior analytic interpretations of the results under the supervision of BCBA.
  • Develops treatment plans and behavior plans under the supervision of BCBA and helps train RBT on how to implement these plans.
  • Teaches others to carry out ethical and effective behavior analytic interventions based on published research and designs and delivers instruction in behavior analysis.
  • Provides on-going training of parents/caregivers.
  • Meets all requirements of the Behavior Analyst Certification Board for continuing education and renewal and/or recertification requirements.
  • Receives supervision from a BCBA and follows the Behavior Analyst Certification Board’s policy on supervising Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analysts and ensures the required documentation is completed.

Minimum qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university in Special Education or any related field with specialized knowledge of behavioral health and treatment philosophies and professional practices.
  • Must be certified by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB).

Competencies

  • Excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills.
  • Maintain a high level of organization for file maintenance, daily, weekly and monthly record keeping.
  • Must be flexible in regards to caseload, travel and ability to help support clients when needed.

Experience

  • At least 4 years of work experience working with individuals diagnosed with ASD and their families.
